Trudy's love of art developed while studying at secondary school and at teachers' college. She was born in England but has spent most of her life living in a variey of areas throughout Queensland. During this period she took the oportunity to attend as many workshops as possible. These included programs organized by the Flying Art School and the University of Southern Queensland.
Trudy has been tutoring watercolour classes for the Redcliffe Art Society for the last few years. She loves the fact that that watercolour paint appears to have a mind of its own, which artists can utilize to enhance the creativity of their work. Her inspiration comes from our brilliant Australian watercolour artists such as Greg Allen, Alvaro Castagnet, Joseph Zbukvic and Chan Dissanayake. She is fascinated by the way these artists use the white of the paper to capture light.
Trudy like to experiment with different media and substrates. She has produced works in oils, acrylic, watercolour, inks and mixed media. She currently lives in Dayboro where she exhibits in the Dayboro Art Gallery.
Examples of Trudy's work can be viewed on her facebook page, Trudy Brooks Art.
