Kath Bertrand is a painter, mainly in watercolour, and a ceramic artist based on the Redcliffe Peninsula, Queensland.
She has completed a Diploma in Visual Arts with Queensland Tafe in 2019 after a career as a social worker.
SAhe has always pazinted in watercolour since childhood, and was encouraged by her grandmother to paint, who was also an artist. She lived in a house of colour growing up, where her mother mother loved to create interesting interiors.
Kath's main genre is landscape, and explores a sense of place and connection to self from her own immediate surroundings and places she has visited.
Being a member of the Redcliffe Art Society(RAS) and Moreton Bay Arts Council, Kath has been selected as a finalist a number of times for the Exhibition of Excellence, and was third overall in 2015. She was first in 2020 for the RAS members Show for her watercolour.
She has exhibited regularly since completing her Diploma. She exhibited with Paula Wise under the auspice of the Moreton Bay Arts Council, and in Nov 2022 with Tricia Reust, a reknown artist, at the Redcliffe Old Fire Station Gallery. Kath was recently a finalist for a watercolour in the Aspire Gallery Rustle Exhibition, and has her ceramics both in Redcliffe and in the Gatakers Artspace in Maryborough .
Kath Bertrand's works have been sold locally and interstate including Redcliffe, Sydney, Alice Springs and Gosford.
