BIO for Jenny Arthur. Watercolour Artist Jenny is an Artist living near the sea on the southwest coast of Australia. She has lived in the shadow of the mountains of Tasmania, where she enjoyed walking in the wilderness. Near the forests and now by the sea in Perth and the southwest. She loves taking pictures of scenes that inspire her especially of time in nature or by the sea. Her love of art started at school doing a diverse range of different types of art throughout her schooling including in the final years of school leading to exams. She then went to university and into teaching Home Economics. When she stopped to have a family, she found time to go to TAFE and get back into the art she loves.
After a long day at work I found it relaxing to paint and took up watercolour classes to improve her skills and learn new techniques, doing workshops with some of Australian and overseas best Watercolour artists including the following masters of the medium. To name a few: Jude Scott Chan Dissanayake Amanda Hyatt Tiejun (Richard) Chao Michael Solovyev Sue Hibbert Herman Peckle Joseph Zubovic
Watercolour has long been her passion especially the way that the water and colour can mix on the paper to produce such beautiful effects and a myriad of colours.
Recently she has also done some workshops in acrylics with Fiona Buchanan & Haley Kruger. I love to paint the natural world that inspires me. I have recently done a driving trip the red centre and Kimberley area, and even more recently cruising the Kimberly coast where the stunning colours rich reds and browns of the Kimberly region contrast so beautifully with the turquoise blues of the ocean. Thus, my passion for painting, and art is generally inspired by the nature around me that I love to be immersed in with the colours and peace that it brings. I have exhibited and sold work at the Wanneroo Art Show and completed a commission |
